Issue with Compare – Unreadable Text in Compared File

When I compared a DOCX version of a contract with PDF version using the Compare, the compared contract file was downloaded successfully. However, after opening the downloaded file, the text was not readable and appeared overwritten.

This issue occurs in:

  • DOCX–PDF comparisons
  • PDF–PDF comparisons

For DOCX–DOCX comparisons, the compared file opens and displays correctly. Attaching the DOCX and PDF files which I tried to compare.

This is the output file which we received after comparing Docx - Pdf.

This issue occurs same for PDF - PDF as well.

Could you please investigate why the output file becomes unreadable when PDFs are involved in the comparison?

@sureshemailid

Could you please provide more details about the environment you are using, such as the version of GroupDocs.Comparison and the platform (e.g., .NET Framework, .NET Core)?

we use groupdocs-comparison - cloud python and version API we use v2.0/comparison/comparisons

Hi, @sureshemailid ,
The DOCX–PDF comparisons - e.g. comparisons of different file types, are not supported by GroupDocs.Comparison Cloud,
And, for PDF–PDF comparison, could you please attach second file for comparison so we can reproduce this?

For the DOCX to PDF process, it will indeed be converted to PDF first.

I have reproduced the issue, and got the same result.
At first, let me notice, that input pdf documents are completely different, and it’s not clear the purpose of comparison, I mean, comparison is intended for documents with same format, in general - for different versions of same document. However, output document should be readable in any case, I think. I can create a ticket for futher investigation and request a fix for that, if you want, but ETA will not be short.
